Review by Stars on Ice Fan Gail S:

We've been attending SOI since we first heard about it in 1993. We were so excited that Paul Wylie and Brian Orser (two of our all time favorite men's skaters) were part of the show. We've always enjoyed seeing live figure skating, but what was especially appealing to us was the chance to see many of our favorite professional skaters as themselves in a show like this. We appreciate seeing a close knit group of skaters many times in the show. They get to do two individual programs showcasing their special talents, but we also love to see them interact with their castmates throughout the show in the ensemble pieces. Our musical taste is rather eclectic, and in SOI you get to see the skaters skate to all kinds of music. There's really something for everyone. Every year the show has special surprises in store for us, and we look forward to it each year with great anticipation.

I've been attending ice shows since the early 1970's and my family and I have been going to Stars on Ice every year since 1992. Without a doubt Stars on Ice is the best ice show ever. A main reason for this is that Stars on Ice has always been a place where skaters can grow as well as share with the audience sides of them, we've never seen. For example Michael Weiss has always been a great skater, however it seems like since joining Stars on Ice his connection with the audience is even greater. In 2008 Marie-France Dubreuil & Patrice Lauzon and Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao skated beautiful routines, however Marie-France and Hongbo's Rocking to the "Hard Steele is Back" routine that floored me. It was a side of them I had never seen before, and not only did they make great rockers, I couldn't believe how much fun they were having doing it. Whether it's Scott Hamilton golfing, Alexei Yagudin doing a Cirque Du Soleil routine, Sasha Cohen showing off her ballet skills, Todd Eldredge skating to Spamalot, or the cast dressed up like clowns or cowboys, my family and I know we can count on breathtaking amazing, fresh, shows, packed with brilliant skating and family fun, year after year.

Stars on Ice is one of the highlights of the year for me - it's better than Christmas! I look forward to it all year. I try to get in as many shows as I can each season. My record is 5 shows. I have travelled from California to Lake Placid, NY, Portland, ME, and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada just to see Stars on Ice! I enjoy the creative side of figure skating that Stars on Ice provides - the beautiful costumes, great music selection, well choreographed group numbers, and exciting tricks, such as Michael Weiss' backflip. I had the pleasure of winning a contest thru Starsonice.com a few years ago, and seeing what great people the skaters are OFF the ice made me love it even more. You can tell how much the skaters love what they are doing, and that translates into a fantastic show every time! And best of all, there are no complicated scoring systems to learn, as in competitions, just world class figure skating at its best! What's not to love?

Review by Stars on Ice Fan Madelyn B:

I have attended the St. Louis Stars on Ice show ever since I was a teenager. What started out being a neat family trip taken with my parents & siblings has turned into much more. It is also a "girls night out" or a "girls weekend out" and sometimes family might be included in that. Sometimes we allow our spouses to come, too. I can't think of a single year where I didn't like the show or where I was sitting. When all of my family went, we sat close to the roof it seemed, but the entertainment from the show never suffered. Every year, our seats got closer until we finally got on-ice seats. I will never forget when Ilia Kulik landed a triple right in front of my Mom and I giggled when I heard her gasp. There is nothing like sitting on the ice and the way you get to feed off the skaters and their personality/showmanship. I try to fill out my advanced order ticket as soon as I get one, or send in the VIP ticket form with the fan club. That way I don't have to worry about where I'm sitting and have the best chance of getting on-ice seats. Every year I look forward to seeing what the theme of the show will be and how it's brought to life. I've seen some wonderfully touching performances, fun and rock 'n' roll ones and definitely sometimes ones that seemed magical. One of my all-time favorites was the year we saw both rain and snow used in the effects. I always get excited to see the skaters that are in the cast, too. Whether they are full time cast members, or guest stars, there are always some great entertainers in the mix. Sometimes we even get lucky and they will bring back a retired skater who has graciously signed up to see the fans again. Who knows what 2010 will bring this year, what skaters will be in the spotlight? I will be waiting on pins and needles. I can't wait to see what this year's skating season and Stars on Ice brings to St. Louis at the show!
