Rachael Flatt
Biography Competitive Results Behind The Scenes
Born in Del Mar, California, Flatt is currently the #1-ranked U.S. skater in the world. Rachael is the 2-time U.S. silver medalist (2008-2009) and the 2009 World Junior Champion. She began skating at age four, and she competed in the Junior Grand Prix for the first time in the 2007-2008 season. She won the gold medal at her first JGP in Austria and a silver medal at her second JGP in Germany. She most recently placed fifth at her first World Figure Skating Championships in 2009, and placed second at 2009 Skate America. In 2010 Rachael became the U.S. National Champion and was chosen to represent team U.S.A at the Vancouver Olympics. Somehow, she still finds the time to volunteer with one of her favorite organizations, Reading is Fundamental. Rachael also finds time to spend time with friends at Cheyenne Mountain High School where she is a straight-A full time student. Rachael has been working closely with her mentor, 1976 Olympic Champion Dorothy Hamill, heading into the 2010 Olympic year.
