Experience, artistry, athleticism and a flair for showmanship make skaters Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman the U.S. figure skating pair to watch! She is the city girl who grew up in New York City while John is the country boy from Birmingham, Alabama. They come from different worlds off the ice but on the ice…they have proven to be one of the best skating pairs ever to grace the ice.

Kyoko & John both began skating at the age of 4. Their coach is world-renowned Tamara Moskvina of Russia. This marks the first U.S. pair team coached by the legendary Moskvina.

Kyoko and John have earned three United States Pair Championship titles, and they delivered a flawless performance at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City placing them fifth in the World. Following the Olympics in March of 2002, Kyoko and John realized their greatest achievement at the World Figure Skating Championships in Nagano, Japan winning the World Bronze Medal. This is the first World medal by a US pair since 1998.

Kyoko hails from an athletic family; her grandfather was a 1924 Olympic track competitor, her grandmother played tennis at Wimbledon, and her mother is an Asian Games swimming champion.

Kyoko and John have developed a close association with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Together they donate their time working with children faced with life-threatening illnesses. In the November/December 2001 issue of International Figure Skating magazine, Kyoko and John were named as two of the top ten most beautiful people in skating. The pair modeled apparel for Capezio this past year and represented Bank of America in a print advertising campaign. Kyoko and John were the only skaters featured in the March 2002 issue of Rolling Stone magazine.

Kyoko's interests include jet skiing, horseback riding, tennis and Broadway shows, while John enjoys skiing, rock climbing, in-line skating and rooting for University of Alabama sports teams. They both have pets; Kyoko has two Pomeranian dogs, ‘PJ’ and ‘Mitsuko’ and an Abyssian cat named ‘Biscuit.’ John has a cat named ‘Dillon.’

Kyoko was recently featured on the Today Show helping Hurricane Katrina victims by building homes for Habitat for Humanity. In September 2005, Kyoko was honored by the Women's Sports Foundation at the 26th Annual Salute to Women in Sports Awards Dinner and Auction, which was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

John married Italian figure skating champion Silvia Fontana on August 28, 2003 in Rome, Italy. John, represented by IMG Models, was featured in the 2003 Barneys New York spring catalogue, the cover of Outside Traveler magazine, and will be seen in a 12-page photo spread for Spanish Vogue in late 2006.

In March 2004, John was the first athlete ever featured on Bravo network’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy show. In January 2006, John was a headline in the FOX reality TV show Skating with Celebrities. John finished a respectable second place. John and his wife recently have been appointed as ambassadors for "Right to Play," and athlete-driven international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play as a tool for the development of children and youth in the most disadvantaged areas of the world.

The 2008 Smucker’s Stars on Ice Tour marks the fifth season as fulltime cast members for Kyoko and John.
