I’m excited to be back again with Smucker's Stars on Ice! I had a rejuvenating and relaxing summer with the family. Since it was a long skating season away from home - I had some serious making up to do.

I spent the first two weeks just basking in the time with the kids and Lisa. I spoiled them with time - taking an extra long time to read books and put them to bed each night, let them stay up late watching "Speed Racer," making sleep-over tents in the playroom, and surprise trips to Cold Stone Creamery!

Then we turned our attention to vacationing. As soon as the tour ended, Lisa and I went to Naples, Florida with four of our close friends. We were fortunate enough to have great weather and some fantastic restaurants. Vacation #2 was to the beach in North Carolina with our extended family. This is the fun family trip each year - Lisa's dad and mom have a great place they share with us - beach, pool and boats for 10 days is my idea of fun! A kid favorite is tubing on the boat....okay, I like it too :-) On one of our sunset cruises on the boat, we were lucky enough to be visited by a friendly porpoise, who putted along the front bow at about five miles per hour with us. That was pretty cool.

Lisa and I also had a great trip to Montreal for Marie-France (Dubreuil) and Patch's (Lauzon) wedding! What a beautiful ceremony - so glad to be able to share that special day with them.

The summer ended with all the Stars on ice crew coming out to stay with us at the house, and skate in my foundation show. Late nights on the trampoline, learning to ride the Segway, and barefoot basketball in the rain…! We had a great weekend, and raised a lot of money for our next generation of U.S. Olympic hopefuls.
