TV SPECIAL TO FEATURE U.S. FIGURE SKATING HEROES IN THE EMMY AWARD-WINNING STARS ON ICE

Every four years, the Winter Olympics give us a chance to revel in the performances of our favorite athletes, as well as celebrate any medals they might have won. The U.S. Figure Skating Team delivered against tough opposition in 2018, winning a Bronze medal in the team competition. Maia & Alex Shibutani, the brother-sister two-time National Ice Dance Champions and three-time World medalists, also took home an Ice Dance Olympic Bronze. Despite narrowly missing out on the podium, two-time National Champion Nathan Chen delivered one of the Games’ greatest single performances with his record-breaking free skate that featured SIX quadruple jumps! Then, only one month later, completely dominated the competition, winning Gold at the World Figure Skating Championships. Now America will get a front row seat to experience these world-class skaters in a special broadcast from the 2018 Stars on Ice tour. The one-hour special will air nationally on NBCSN, Saturday, April 14th from 12:30 – 1:30p ET (9:30 – 10:30a PT).

A past recipient of three Emmy Awards, and one ACE Cable Award (Best Sports Special), this Stars on Ice TV special will rekindle the spirit and passion of the Winter Games by reuniting the bronze medal-winning U.S. Figure Skating team. In addition to the Shibutanis and Nathan Chen, fans will see performances by U.S. Champion and overnight sensation Adam Rippon, 2018 U.S. Ladies Champion Bradie Tennell, and National Champion Mirai Nagasu, who made history by landing the first triple axel for an American woman at the Olympics.

The 2018 Stars on Ice tour TV special will also present several other skating luminaries, including U.S. Olympic royalty, Ice Dance Gold Medalists Meryl Davis & Charlie White; 2018 National Ice Dance Champions and World Silver Medalists Madison Hubbell & Zachary Donohue; three-time National Champion and 2016 World Silver Medalist Ashley Wagner; National Champion and huge crowd favorite, Jason Brown; and 2017 U.S. Ladies Champion Karen Chen.

Recorded during the April 7th Stars on Ice tour performance at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, the TV special will also serve as a preview for the 2018 Stars on Ice tour that began its 22-city run in Fort Myers, FL on Friday, April 6th, and will wrap up in Portland, OR on Sunday, May 20th.
