Biography

Andrew Torgashev began skating at the age of three through the Learn to Skate program. Skating has always been a family passion—both of his parents were competitive skaters, and he grew up training on the ice every day alongside his sister. He loves the sense of freedom skating provides and enjoys constantly improving his craft.

Andrew was previously coached by his parents, Ilona Melnichenko and Artem Torgashev, who competed internationally for Russia in ice dance and pair skating, respectively. Because of his family background, Andrew is fluent in both English and Russian.

He has a younger sister named Deana and a Dutch Shepherd named Cosmos. In addition to competing, Andrew also coaches and enjoys sharing his love for skating and the life lessons the sport has taught him.

Outside the rink, he enjoys playing golf and tennis, as well as cooking.

Andrew Torgashev is the 2025 and 2026 U.S. Silver medalist and represented the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
