SKATING NOTES
Ilia Malinin became the first skater to successfully land a quad Axel in competition at the 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Classic, He became the youngest male Skate America champion in history in 2022.

PERSONAL NOTES
Ilia’s parents, Tatyana Malinina and Roman Skorniakov, were Olympic figure skaters for Uzbekistan. His mother was the 1999 Grand Prix Final and Four Continents champion. Ilia has a sister named Liza whom he is helping to learn to skate. While attending Marshall High School, Ilia enjoys skateboarding, and playing basketball and soccer. He also likes to ride bikes and play video games with friends.
