SKATING NOTES
Ilia Malinin became the first skater to successfully land a quad Axel in competition at the 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Classic, a Guinness Book record. Ilia is also the first skater to perform all six quad jumps in one program. He became the youngest male Skate America champion in history in 2022.

PERSONAL NOTES
Ilia’s parents, Tatyana Malinina and Roman Skorniakov, were Olympic figure skaters for Uzbekistan. His mother was the 1999 Grand Prix Final and Four Continents champion. Ilia has a sister named Liza. Currently attending George Mason University, Ilia enjoys skateboarding with friends, playing video games and origami.
